‭ Rin’s Restorations Terms of Service‬

‭ 1. About Rin's Restorations:‬
‭Rin's Restorations is a professional sewing machine maintenance, repair, and restoration‬ business owned and operated by Corinne Schneider. Our mission is to deliver high-quality‬ service while preserving the functionality and aesthetic appeal of sewing machines. We‬ specialize in servicing vintage and modern sewing machines and take pride in restoring‬ machines to their original beauty and performance.‬

2. Scope of Services:‬

Rin's Restorations specializes in sewing machine maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and‬ vintage machine restorations. By entrusting us with your machine, you acknowledge and accept‬ these terms.‬

3. Service Fees:‬

• ‬Drop-Off Fee for Servicing Machines‬

 

• ‬‭For standard sewing machines: A non-refundable fee of $20.00 applies to all machines‬ brought to our facility for servicing.‬

• For cast iron sewing machines: Drop-off fees vary based on the machine's condition,‬ weight, and the scope of work required. These fees will be discussed and agreed upon‬ before drop-off. In some cases, the fee may not be non-refundable and may instead be‬ applied toward the final invoice.‬

• Restoration Labor Charges: Restoration work is billed at $30.00 per hour, with a‬

‭       minimum one-hour charge.‬

‭ 4. Parts and Additional Costs:‬

• Parts: Any required parts will be quoted separately. Repairs involving parts will proceed‬ only with your prior approval.‬

• Additional Fees: Any additional costs associated with specific services will be disclosed‬ and agreed upon in advance.‬

‭ 5. House Calls and Special Services:‬

• House Calls: Available for a $40.00 initial fee, plus $35.00 per hour.‬

• Special Services: Unique service needs will be assessed, and arrangements made on a‬ case-by-case basis.‬

‭ 6. Preparing Your Machine for Service:‬
‭ To ensure effective service, please provide the following items with your sewing   machine:‬

• Power cord, foot control, bobbin, bobbin case, and presser foot.‬

• Fabric and thread samples (if specific issues are being addressed).‬

‭ 7. Service Details:‬

• Cleaning, Lubrication, and Adjustment: Machines are cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, and‬ tested for optimal performance.‬

• Repair Services: Comprehensive inspections and repairs are conducted to restore‬

‭       functionality.‬

• Restoration Services: Restoration work, including custom painting and decal application,‬ is conducted with attention to historical detail and craftsmanship.‬

‭ 8. Repair Limitations:‬

• Repairs exceeding 75% of the machine’s original purchase price may not be‬ cost-effective. These cases will be discussed with you before proceeding.‬

• Machines deemed irreparable or unsafe to operate will be returned as-is unless‬ otherwise agreed upon.‬

‭ 9. Vintage Machine Restorations:‬

• Services Offered: Custom painting, metal refinishing, and decal application.‬

• Repainting Schedule: Repainting is available from September through April to ensure‬ optimal conditions.‬

• Restoration Timeline: Vintage restorations require detailed craftsmanship and may take‬ several months to complete.‬

‭ 10. Business Liability and Policies:‬

• Liability: Rin's Restorations takes great care to handle every sewing machine‬ responsibly. However, we are not liable for damages caused by pre-existing conditions,‬ including rust, structural wear, or unauthorized prior repairs.‬

• Loss or Damage: In the unlikely event of loss or damage while in our care, Rin's Restorations' liability is limited to the cost of services rendered.‬

• Right to Refuse Service: Rin's Restorations reserves the right to refuse or terminate‬ service for any machine deemed unsafe, beyond repair, or incompatible with our‬ expertise.‬

‭ 11. Estimates and Turnaround Time:‬

• Estimates: Cleaning fees and service costs are provided after a detailed assessment.‬

• Turnaround Time: Completion times depend on workload and parts availability. Quality‬ craftsmanship is our priority.‬

• Revisions: Any changes to the scope of work will be communicated promptly.‬

 

‭ 12. Machine Pick-Up and Storage:‬

• Machines must be picked up within 7 days of notification that service is complete unless‬ alternate arrangements are made in writing.‬

• A daily storage fee of $10.00 applies after 7 days. Machines unclaimed for 30 days are‬ considered abandoned and may be sold to recover costs.‬

‭ 13. Warranty on Services:‬

•  Service Guarantee: We stand behind our work. If issues arise related to the services‬ performed within 30 days, we will address them at no additional labor cost.‬

• Exclusions: Warranty does not cover issues resulting from misuse, neglect, or‬ unauthorized modifications after service.‬

‭ 14. Payment Terms:‬

• Payment Due: Payment is required at the time of collection.‬

• Accepted Methods: Cash or non-credit card payments. Checks should be made payable‬ to Corinne Schneider, owner of Rin's Restorations.‬

​

‭ 15. Appointment Scheduling and Cancellations:‬

• Scheduling: Appointments can be made by phone at 346-933-7728.‬

• Cancellations: Cancellations or rescheduling requests require at least 24 hours’ notice.‬ Failure to provide notice may result in a $30.00 non-refundable deposit for future‬ bookings.‬

‭We respect your privacy. Any personal information provided during the course of our services‬ will be kept confidential and used solely for communication and service purposes.‬
